CMOS problem

by sarita_mynampati / February 27, 2005 12:47 PM PST

Friends, I have a Datamini computer, Pentium II processor bought in 1998. During the booting process I get a message : "CMOS checksum error, press F1 to continue". My friends told me that maybe the life of the CMOS battery was exhausted, therefore I used a new CMOS and when i switched on the computer, it is not switching on. I tried with 4-5 new batteries but in vain. But when I replaced with the old battery, the computer switched on. Please tell me what is the problem and the probable remedy.
