Greetings all!
Well what I'm trying to do is create a couple quick and dirty batch files so I can open a command window and then run Gvim to create perl scripts. What I have at this point is a template for Gvim with all the information for all of my perl scripts. What I'm doing now is opening a command window, then opening a second command window to run my newperl.bat (my batchfile to open gvim and open my template). The issue is I have to open a second command window to open gvim. What I would like to do is run a batch file or script that will open a command window and also open gvim and call my gvim template, but I want to be able to use that command window. The issue is that the command window you use to open gvim can not be used for anything as long as gvim is open. Also I would like my script to tile the useable command window and the gvim window horizontally as I like having both windows open so that I can test my perlscripts in the command window and look at whatever error messages that might arise from my perl script and edit them without having to toggle betweem my command window and my gvim window. What I don't know is what kind of file the run command and the "tile windows horizontally" are, and if they can be edited.
