cmd.exe not recognizing network commands

have tried to type a number of commands on the CMD without success. am getting a message "command not recognised as an internal or external" please help
cmd path "%SystemRoot%\system32\cmd.exe"

Change the path, so that the programs that execute that commands are in the path. That's simple. An alternative is to type the full path yourself.

What network commands are you talking about?
