Cloud Backup Solutions - SugarSync vs. Mozy, Carbonite, etc.

Aug 16, 2010 12:22PM PDT

I have a specific question regarding cloud backup services. I've been looking at moving both my personal data and my 6-person company's data to a cloud backup service for the past few weeks. I don't have any good system for backing up my laptop now (yikes, I know), but my company has been using Seagate's "eVault/i365" service for the past few years. The problem with our current solution is that it's very expensive ($95/month for just 10GB), and it doesn't currently cover all of our data.

I've heard Rafe speak highly of SugarSync, and from what I can tell it seems both impressive and reasonably priced. However, I'm a bit lost in the weeds with all the different choices and online backup solutions out there. What makes SugarSync better than Carbonite, Mozy, eVault/i365, Dropbox, Box.net, etc., etc., etc.? Also, can anyone tell me if SugarSync would be suitable for professional use (my small non-profit company) or just personal files?
