Question

Cloud app for synchronizing files directly in web

Aug 25, 2016 10:45PM PDT

Dear All,

Hope all doing good. Is there software or app that will enable us to view/edit files directly that are stored in web i.e., If I have stored a file in a web software or app, I just have to open it directly from web and want to edit rather than downloading it or by viewing it as we do in google drive or dropbox

I would be guessing that you are looking for an open source version of google drive or dropbox.

My answer is there are things that are close but I find them too hard to setup. So I'm going with no.

Here on my PC I can open my local Dropbox files. I do this all the time. And on my Android it may open local if I've opened it once before.

I wonder what scenario you are asking about.

Google docs does not download it unless I ask it to.

And you have to view it to edit it today.

Now maybe you left out some detail like you want to make a web site that you COMMAND it to alter a file on the server. I would be guessing here.

Don't leave out details.
