Please help! I recently cleaned my computer from trojan virus with Kaspersky and right after that I became unable to use some features- for example, netscape is working, but when i try to use ie, the ie window shuts down by itself. So are some other windows, such as any extension in "search" computer feature (like "all files and folders"), "help and support" and others . Can I do anything except to reinstall Windows? I have XP professional. Thanks for any help.

With such a generalized damage, no one in the virtual world might be able to assist you. Why ? Because it?s almost impossible. I can show you long threads where only let?s say Help and Support was damaged and after tens of fixes attempts it was recoverd at 95 % (but not 100%).

Instead of clean installation of windows XP you can use the in-place Repair. How ? It depends if you have windows XP CD. From your description, you probable use a brand name PC, so ask them about windows XP CDs and how to do a repair with their supplied CDs.
