ClockInit Failed Error after installing Gigabyte VGA utility

by snirhe / October 31, 2009 8:32 PM PDT

I have an AMD computer with Gigabyte PCX6600 DV256 video card.
OS = Windows XP professional
One bright day the screen didn't display anything, so I reinstalled all of the NVidia drivers.
When I tried to install the Gigabyte accelerator utility and restarted the computer, I got the nvu ClockInit failed error + "Reference memory 0X000 could no write... " and my screen performance got very bad.
I tried reinstalling drivers and VGA utility including updated drivers I found on the net, but nothing helped.
What can I do? Could it be that I need to replace my video card or is it a software problem.

Thanks in advance,

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
