I've done of few of those things with my camera, others had not yet occurred to me.
For finding my car in the airport parking lot I usually prefer my GPS. I can set a waypoint in the Garmin and then it will point me in the right direction when I return.

take a photo of a map (heck of a lot cheaper than a GPS)

Not sure taking a picture of cars by yours in the lot will work so much. You can prove they dinged you if they are gone when you get back. Someone else could have pulled in, did a crunch and said, "oops, better go park elsewhere now", and moved on.
