Question

Clever Dog confusion

Mar 1, 2019 6:19AM PST

Hi I am a newbie to this forum and totally useless when it comes to anything technical. I have just had installed a Clever Dog camera in my hallway so that I can check on my new puppy should he be left alone. I donwloaded the app and all seems to be ok, but firstly, when I'm away and look at the app when it says New Discovery  there are three images below this word and when I click on one it is just a black screen with a weird symbol  - I can't seem to find a way to attach the screenshots I've taken of these to this message  Sad   - below this it says video , which, when I click on it indeed shows me a current time video of the hallway. , secondly, I seem to get notifications throughout the day even when no one inc pup) is home. So my question is, what are these odd images? and why are the notifications so constant? I don't have an SD card as I don't need to play back any video. It's purely to puppy watch. I have emailed clever dog twice but have had no reply. I'm sure someone can help and than you very much in advance .

Answer
It's just an event.

These tend to have FALSE detections and you get the odd picture. Very confusing to those that expected a perfect product. Since the products do this there is nothing to fix. Only explain.

Thank you

Thanks for your reply. I think my expectations were too high!

I should have given at least one example

That sets off my motion detecting camera. Here there's light from outside and if a bird, plane or cloud passes by then the change in light sets it off. While I was on a team that dealt with this I can't expect under 100 buck things to be very smart about scene or motion detection.

Hope this helps a little.

That’s helped

Yes I can see that would make a difference. The camera is fitted in the hallway in front of a partially glazed door so I can see that pretty much anything outside could set it off. Thanks so much for your help
