because they don't know why it happened. When you call a vendor, whether for software, hardware or IP service) with a problem the first person you talk to is usually their first level support. This means the LEAST knowledgeable person. They have scripts to follow based on what kind of problem you have. If their script (play book) doesn't resolve your issue then you get bumped to the next level. Belkin has at least 3. It won't be until you get there that you'll find someone who has any real technical knowledge.
As far as your issue goes: Uninstall the controller software/drivers. Make sure you delete the device from the hardware manager. Reboot the system without the controller. Now re-install everything like a new install. Make sure you install all the latest drivers and patches. Your IP may have done an upgrade that now makes your hardware incompatible. Let us know if that works.

I have been using clearwire service with XP & my Dell 8400 P4 system for 6 months and it has worked perfectly.
THen two days ago my internet connection was intermittent and then after I came back 3 hours later my connectionw as dead.
I called clearwire support and the lady had me use the cmd prompt to check my IP address and it showed a 169.xx.xx number and she said my computer was pointing to itself.
She then had me uninstall my network adapter (Broadcom netXtreme 57xx gigabit controller) and reboot.
Upon reboot my computer recognized the network adapter and installed the software for it.
The internet then worked again perfectly. BUT I left the computer on overnight and then the connection was gone in the morning. I had to follow the same process again to get the internet back.
The lady at clearwire said something about a network adapter corruption or something, but she couldn't explain WHY this had happened to me.
Basically I want to know - WHY this happen and WILL this KEEP happening going forward.
Is it a problem with my computer network system or somethign that clearwire service is doing to my computer? A firewall problem (I run zonealarm)?
Thank you. I just hate it when people don't explain a problem after they try to fix it.
