Classic Atari games online?

..For free? There a place online I can do that & play live with others?
I was hoping to do exactly that on Atari.com, but noticed that though I could play solo, it wouldn't allow me to actually sign up in order to find friends. I understand Atari pretty much neglects the site. Shame. The updated graphics of the old games looked great.
