Clarification on Verizon early-termination fee doubling plz

I keep reading about the doubling of the Verizon Wireless early termination fee starting Nov 15. What I haven't been able to discover --so far-- is whether people who enter into a contract before the 15th will be subject to the new terms as well. Any idea?

also, you sign a contract and they shouldnt be able to change it

(HOWEVER as i found out the hard way with XM Radio- READ THE CONTRACT- XM's contract says they can change the contract however they want whenever they want!!! so be wary lol)
