Please be informed that the new version 2012.0.2126 (with AVG Do Not Track feature) is currently released through new installation files only, common program update will be available after some time.

* AVG 2012 Service Pack 1 **
We have notified you about major AVG 2012 program update, the Service Pack 1, in our previous feedback update. As the program update is not available to be installed via the update feature of your AVG client programs, the only option is running the "Repair installation" using the most recent installation package as described in of the following FAQ articles (follow the procedure number 2, not the "Control Panel" avenue):

Please explain because having to run a Repair Installation does not sound to me like a well thought out way of doing things and if this is the best AVG can do then i for one will be looking for a new av company!!

Hello AFQR2009,

Please be informed that program update to AVG 2012 Service Pack 1 is not available for now, but will be available after some time (exact time is not known yet).

We are gathering feedback on this latest AVG 2012 version (from already installed/repaired AVG installations) and preparing promoting (informative) update campaigns for older versions.
It is also better to get feedback (possible conflict or bug not induced during our QA and Beta testing) from newest version used by less users before releasing this version to all users (to have time to fix it and reduce possible impact).

Although "Repair Installation" can sound negatively, it is fully integrated feature in our installation wizard and offers also other improvements (simplification of some processes, for example when upgrading AVG Free -> paid Anti-Virus -> paid Internet Security or downgrading from paid to free, etc.).
There is nothing to worry about running repair installation to get latest program version.

Thank you
