Cingular

Apr 24, 2005 5:46AM PDT

Had AT&T and 2 out of the 4 phones on the plan were not working. In order to replace phones we had to migrate to Cingular. Choose Motorola V551 and 3 nokia's 3120's. They are not holding charges and on 1 phone sometimes callee can not hear caller. Had the battery replaced on the 551 with no help. The charge does not last for 48 hrs with light use. My old phones would last a min of 5 days. We did drain the battery and fully recharge when we received the phones. Went back to replace phones and store said I had razr chips in the phones which were not correct but did not matter. Is this true? Any suggestions? Thank you for your comments.

Can your explain what you are referring as razr chip? It sounds like there are defective phones in this case. You would not have a Razr microchip in a Motorolla V551 handset.

Thank you for responding. I suspect the sales person meant that it was a sim card for the Razr motorola phone. The card being that plastic thing that goes under the battery that stores numbers and whatnot.

A SIM card would have no effect on battery life. If the store rep is blaming that on the SIM, he is simply trying to come up the a poor excuse for the actual problem. Sounds like a defective phone. If you could not get the phone activated, I might suspect the SIM as a possible cause, otherwise, that has nothing to do with your phone's problems.
