CiceroUIWndFrame? w/o email address

CiceroUIWndFrame?

My laptop ( Gateway, WinXP Home with SP2, MS Office 2003 Prof) either disconnects itself from the Internet ( home network) after a couple of hours when idle (shows no connectivity to the Internet) or even when I work on the Internet with the browser does not retrieve any e-mails through Outlook 2003. I have to restart the computer and the message comes up: Ending CiceroUIWndFrame..you may loose your work etc. When restarted the laptop works fine again.
I have tried to find CiceroUIWndFrame on my computer, to no avail. Also a search on the Microsoft website or with Google did not render any result. Any idea?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Jack.

No answer, but do you have Office XP's speech and handwriting recognition software installed? CiceroUIWndFrame seems to be part of Cicero's sppech and handwriting software.

I googled just the ''CiceroUIWndFrame'' part of the message and got some hits about CiceroUIWndFrame not responding.

If you do, perhaps that is causing a problem when you reboot the computer?

Possibly a coincidence and not connected to your connectivity problem, but it might be because some of the hits mention Outlook 2003 problems as well.

Just a thought, and it might give you a place to start.

Thanks for the info. I removed the handwriting and speech recognition. Will see whether it works.

Ahhh, confusing!

I didn't understand your post Fire, but I have just re-read Jack's post and I see what has happened.

He re-posted your own original question but without your email address. Apparently you had included your email address in your post and this is a risky thing to do. Bots trawl forums like these for email addresses so they can be spammed, so we try and remove them whenever possible.

Now I understand....... Happy

CiceroUIWnd Frame

Yes, I had inserted my e-mail; sorry about that. Anyway, I have 'removed' the CiceroUIWndFrame as suggested by going into Add/Remove programs etc. Even though it is officially removed ( needs original CD by the way) it still shows up when I reboot the computer. Sometimes only Outlook, running constantly in the background, does not retrieve the mail at all, whereas I can still work fine with the browser. Outlook sends messages, but shows error in retrieving the mail. No idea, why!

Have you checked

System Configuration?

Goto Start > Run and type in "msconfig", (without the quotes), and click OK. Click the Startup tab.

Is there anything there that relates to CiceroUIWndFrame or Cicero Speech recognition?

If so, remove the tick and click Apply, then OK. You may get a warning message that you will need to reboot the computer, and when you do reboot, you will get an information window that you are in Selective Startup. You can supress that message by ticking the box within the window.

I have checked msconfig; result nothing about CiceroUIWnd Frame. I have two other laptops which have Win XP Prof and not WinXP Home like on my main laptop;Cicero UIWnd Frame does not show up on these 2 laptops and they also do not disconnect from the Internat automatically. When I work with the Explorer,it seems that it takes after awhile longer to upload a webpage or website!?? It sometimes deos not show Program CiceroUIWnd Frame does not respond. After restart the websites display faster again. Beats me.

I have tried it; even though it has been 'removed' as stated in the article, I stilll get the same old error message when I restart. It affects at first Outlook 2003 ( not receiving any mail) and then Explorer ( gets sluggish).I am just wondering why this happens only with WinXP home and not at all with WinXP Professional?!

MSCONFIG

In MSCONFIG, it is the CTFMON entry that relates to this. But even if you remove it there, it will come back. The best approach is what you described - go through add/remove, and remove handwriting and speech.
