Resolved Question

Chrome - Restoring bookmarks from Chrome file?

Aug 13, 2014 10:21AM PDT

My laptop recently died but I managed to connect my hard drive to another computer.

I found the bookmarks file from the Chrome folder of the attached hard drive and now I'm trying to figure out how I can import them into Chrome on my working laptop

It's a .bak file and just regular "file"

I can open both as text documents on notepad, but that doesn't do me much good.

I tried posting this in the actual chrome help forums but it keeps giving me an error preventing me from posting.

Did you try copying this file to where it belongs on the PC?

It's an old trick when we forget to export. Worth a shot.
