Chrome kills Win 10 Spring Creator's update every time

I've been running Spring Creator's Update for two days now and without fail, if I load a Chrome session, within 2-3 minutes Chrome stops responding, then the Desktop/Explorer stops responding (can't even load Task Manager to see what's up). If I then leave the machine for another couple of minutes, I get the BSOD (blue screen of death), which is sometimes green. It's consistent, happens every time. I tried running with Edge and have perfectly normal sessions. Anybody else seen this? I'm on an HP Spectre X2 - i7 processor (2017). I am aware the the primary delay in getting this update released has been reported as BSODs, and for me it's still happening.

Not that it's likely to help, but you can start Task Manager before starting Chrome to see what's up, and you can consider to tell the details of the BSOD, like the error number (0x.....) and the module it happens in.

When I see Chrome issues it's half the time some machine issue and the next it's some driver issue.

My go to first try to correct this is to be sure Chrome is a current version which can chafe folk that want to run a specific version but hey, we are not staying with an old OS either.

So with that out of the way I google up "Disable Chrome Hardware Acceleration" then do that work and re-test.

Uninstall Chrome and Reinstall it

You can uninstall the Chrome at first. And then check the Windows 10 update to update the system. After the system updated, download the latest version of chrome to install it again.

In this case I'm inclined to say that the Windows 10 upgrade is killing Chrome in stead of the other way around, as you state. https://www.theverge.com/2018/5/3/17315180/microsoft-windows-10-april-2018-update-chrome-crash-freezing-problems says Microsoft is working on a fix.

Ed Bott in https://www.zdnet.com/article/windows-10-spring-creators-update-act-fast-to-delay-this-big-upgrade/ tells how to delay upgrades, both for users of Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Home. That's really, really recommended for all but a few daredevils (like you?).
