Christmas present not working please help!

I bought a SVP MP300 media box. All functions work except for the mp3 player. I have a song unprotected in windows media player which i used the sync tab to transfer the song to the device. The device was recognized on my computer and in fact when i search for the device in the computer it shows the song in the device. However when I unplug it nothing shows in the mp3 file. what am I not doing. This is a christmas gift for my granddaughter and im frantic.

Thanks in advance,

Mimiindiana

Don't know anything about that particular device, but my Sandisk Sansa media player has two different USB modes in the settings menu. One setting is for syncing with programs like windows media player, and the other is for dragging and dropping files to the player. If files are added to the player via one mode, they will not be seen in the player itself if it is set to the other mode. In other words, try switching USB modes in the player if possible, then reboot it and see if the files on the player are now visible.

Never heard of SVP before

But I did find their website:

www.svp-tech.com

Didn't find any info on the MP300, however. Frankly, these guys look like they're simply an import clearing house for cheap, gimmicky overseas electronics. When it comes to the heavy lifting, it really seems like someone else is doing the bulk of the tech and product engineering, even if you believe their 'About Us' statement.
