Choosing external hard drives

Nov 22, 2006 9:09AM PST

Hi! I'm a college student from the Philippines who owns a sole laptop. I got a lot of stuff in my hard drive and it's slowing down significantly so I need to buy (another) hard drive. So far, I have a 120 GB HDD that can be connected with a USB. I'm thinking of buying again but I'm not sure if I should buy another portable external USB hard drive, or go for the bulky external hard drives (that need to be plugged to an outlet) because it's much cheaper.

Any comments would help a lot! Thank you!

It's more efficient. USB drives take a lot of power. Get one that plugs into a power outlet.
