Question

choosing email

Mar 29, 2017 1:36PM PDT

Hi-- My at.net yahoo email is wacky--crawls or doesn't respond, does strange things. I want out. I went to Gmail and filled it out, then read terms of service, in which they spelled out how they'd be storing every thing I click and search (to better serve me). Just on principle--bothers me. Should I go ahead, or is there a better place? Herbert Hoover was president when I was born--to illustrate I'm not too tech savvy; it's got to be simple for simple me. Thanks for advice.

who doesn't collect info about you. every email service will collect your data. come to think of it your isp is collecting all your online clicks so there is not much you can say or do. even cnet is collecting info about you. just grin and bear if if you are wanting email service.

Okay, thanks Renegade600. So I'll bear it, but I won't grin. As the wicked witch said, "Oh what a world, what a world!"

proton mail might be an option

Go to protonmail.com to learn more and see if it might be an option. It is an encrypted email service based in Switzerland. I had to apply for an email account. I use the free version. It took several weeks before I was finally able to create my account. All of the rules that Google has spelled out do not seem to be present with proton mail.
