Let's call these machines out and give them a finite life span of 2 years before troubles. Some may call that pessimistic but let's go with the reality that we are buying devices with finite lifespans. For this exercise we can figure out if we are willing to rent the machine.
At 2500 and 2900 that's about 104 to 120 bucks a month rent.
Both will be fine gamers and should follow the same trajectory of troubles as they age. Gamer laptops have developed a good track record of a few years of fun and then you need to get it repaired or replaced.
That's all of 16 bucks a month in difference so why not the pricier unit?

After Sticking with my Dell Inspiron 1521 for years I decided to purchase a new laptop. I have always wanted a Alienware and decided I will purchase from them. I am stuck between the M17x and M15x. The laptops will be used for playing games like Farcry, Crysis, Aion, and any other games coming out in the future that I will be interested in. I need a laptop, the choice of a desktop is not available because of traveling. The Budget will be around $3,000.
