There are probably hundreds of laptops that will run those apps so I defer to what members ask about rather than list dozens of models. Lots of choice today.
The Vostro is usually a little more sturdy. Inspirons are OK but more about value than business class.

I am planning to buy a new Dell laptop. But i cannot decide which one to choose between Vostro 5480 and Inspiron 5447. I am an engineering student and need to run software like SolidWorks, Autocad and Abacus. Ocassionally use lightroom and photoshop.
Basically, i want a sturdy laptop with good performance. I am going for i5.
My price range is 500 to 800.
Kindly advice me if you know any other good ones in this price range.
