With that budget I'd look at HP's 64-bit offerings. The units run from about 1200 to 1700 depending on RAM, HD and if there's a DVD recorder in the laptop.
With 64-bit being a real future issue with PCs, you'd be upset to miss this turn.
I am a college student, and am going to be purchasing a laptop soon. I am torn between some of the superlight models (by toshiba and sony)...and the clunkier, cheaper, and more feature-laden models-- any suggestions? (I'd like to keep it between $1700-2100...if possible!) Thanks!
