Resolved Question

Choice of browsers for macbook, tiger.

Jan 11, 2012 1:39AM PST

I have found only one browser other than Safari, that works on my x.4.11 OS i.e Camino. I would like another browser. I noted that Google browser and Opera do not have a version that works with the Tiger OS.
Be grateful for help.

There isn't a supported version of Firefox for Tiger

unless you have a PPC Mac. The OP should upgrade to Snow Leopard. Skip Leopard, it is too expensive, and it isn't really needed to go from Tiger to SL. It's only $29, and you can still buy it from Apple.

Thank you for your helpful advice.
I have a Macbook intel 2Duo with Tiger.
There is no possibility of getting Snow Leopard to upgrade from Tiger however it is possible to get Snow Leopard if you have Leopard on your Apple Macbook in the UK. I just checked the UK Apple site.
I would be very happy to buy Snow Leopard to upgrade from Tiger if it were possible .

This is one case where Apple misinforms people. I skipped Leopard on my iMac, and so has a lot of other people.

Unfortunately there are also a lot of people,

who went this route and it did not work for them.
It mostly works, but not always but for the low price, it is work trying.

<span id="INSERTION_MARKER"> for two reasons. It will be bootable just in case the Tiger disk fail, like mine did, and the OP doesn't have Time Machine.

the system is too old.
CCC would be good if they also have an external drive.
