Installation issue..needs second install/
by castingRod47 / February 27, 2007 10:50 PM PST
In reply to: CHiP SET PROBLEM!!!

When I first started in PC Desktop it was always a second install that got things running correctly..
even in these days I make some error about installation..
..
Be sure to turn off the Virus Scanning when installing anything..even un-installing might require a Virus Scan to be turned off..
..
You may want to do a complete PC Install of all components if adding such a piece of hardware as a Video Card..
..
I have read up on a Video Card and find them very complicated in the SETTINGS process..even haveing your SETTINGS remain intact..was my observation..
..
Here's an Installation Procedure to try:
1./Total RAM..in order to install the OS..only allow 512MBs of RAM to remain installed..
2./Device Manager..set the PageFile Size to System Managed Size..
3./Remove all PCI-expansion Cards and peripherals..
4./Check your SYSTEM SET Up Program..F2..make sure all configurations are accurate..
5./useing XP..a CLEAN Install is when the Microsoft Server is dialed from your Modem..not a Telephone Call to a Tech..re-do if you need to use a Telephone Number..
6./Once your OS is fully installed-reset the Pagefile Size=CUSTOM 700MB/750MB..leave the machine at 512MBs of Total RAM..install the MODEM..and Drivers..add your ISP(CD)..install the Security Software/
7./Once the Security Software is installed and updated you can move to Microsoft Update Service..useing Virus Scanning is your choice here..I use Virus Scanning at this point..
8./remember to fully Update your ISP service..your User Accounts and everything..prior to moving onto to the Internet for Update Services..
9./Once I have a Clean Install of the Operating System..a Modem..ISP Internet Connection..Security Software and OS-updates..I perform some Re-Starts to get to a level configuration..I will Turn-Off any Auto-UPDATEING while getting Updates Manually..
10./My PC has its specific required configurations:as to Updating and Internet Options..Security and Privacy..these I have found over a long time..I suggest you write things down..
11./I use a DELL Modem for all installs and then add my USROBOTICS Modem later..its much faster but will not allow for OS installs..
12./I replace my second RAM Module for 1-GBs of RAM but keep the Pagefile Size=CUSTOM 700MBs/750MBs..even at 512MBs..I use a Pagefile of CUSTOM 700MBs/750MBs..
13./at this POINT........
I quess you can begin to install the High-end Parts..
But really think that SETTINGS need to be written down and re-checked alot..
That's about all I can think of.

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
