They have already announced chip price reductions for the Intel Pentium M current Dothan processors (which are the most popular for Intel so the Pentium 4M prices and Athlon prices will go down also).

The new Alviso chipset for the Sonoma Centrino update will occur in 2005 and new Dothan chip revisions (same chip) will be issued to run at the new higher bus speeds and memory speeds.

So, the 725, 735, 745, and 755 Pentium M Dothans this year will drop in price (and result in notebook pricing drops for at least that component) but in 2005 with the new chipset and memory speed and bus upgrade speeds this will change to 730, 740, 750, etc (same Dothan cpu but to reflect the updated Alviso chipset revision).

Also, of course, there will be good promotions around Christmas time.
