With the bad body armor, are you thinking of the "Second Chance" corporation? They are well known in the body armor trade, especially with police. A while back they made an upgrade pack to increase protection using a substance called Zylon. The shock plate increased the protection, but in some cases still allowed unacceptable damage to the wearer.
It seems to me that if someone wanted to give an example of a company killing people, it would be better to use Union Carbide and the Bhopal Disaster an an example. I can't help but think that using Enron as an example instead may be barking up that particular tree for another purpose.
