just a couple of neighborhood punks lol.
Heck, if you haven't got a fat lip or bloody nose before you hit 17 in Chicago , you must be a part timer Mischief

I was suspended from school once when I was (I think)10 for defending myself from 3 neighborhood bullies and kicked their butts, all of us had fat lips lol..

When I was living in Berlin in the early 60s.

My dad was RSM and I got beat up on the school bus by a boy much older than me. When I got home my mother freaked out at the state of me. She immediately called my father then dragged me around to the boys flat. A fight was arranged and the whole of the military housing block came out and formed a circle.
Now I wasn't that fussed on this. Mainly because I already looked like the elephant man. But it had to be. So I set about him and gained the upper hand. I then heard my fathers voice saying "half a crown for every mark you put on him". So the job was done and next day, the crowds parted as I walked to the school bus. No more trouble after that!

for me.....about six girls in the clique (I wasn't one of them) and they were 'top dogs' in the school and bullied everyone. I was a very mousy bookworm (a geek by today's standards) and constantly had one of them typically knock my books out of my arms (no backpacks in those days) and kick them down the hall forcing me to chase after them or have to buy new replacements. Big fun......

One day I was informed by their 'leader' that she was going to beat the crap out of me after school. I waited inside for a pretty long time, hoping they would all be gone by the time I finally left.......no joy. As soon as I exited the building, they were all in a circle around me, and here comes the 'leader'. As usual, she knocked the books out of my arms.....bigger fun.

I bent down, picked up the books and as I came up, I didn't realize she was bent over me waiting for her chance to deck me. Unfortunately for her, my books hit her square on the bridge of her nose and broke it.

After that, I was the one nobody messed with......it was an accident on my part but God smiled on me that day and took my problem away. I had the reputation after that until after I graduated that I was someone to never cross......and I never had to try to 'prove' myself again. Good thing, too, because I am definitely not a physical fighter and would lose in a large way..........

...have to wonder if either or both of them were included in the 'Hey, illegals....come to Chicago....we want you" that his 'big-hearted' father invited a couple of years ago.........

You claim you found their turf...

What did you determine the name of the gang was?

I drive through Ravenswood every now and than , have lunch at a local Indian resturaunt. It's a pretty high end/ historical area. They used to have a Gay gang at one time , I think they were called the
Gay Lords ROFL that didn't impose any danger.
If there's any gang action there , they come from surrounding areas to steal from the wealthy. Grab a purse, steal a phone....

Ravenswood doesn't have a gang problem.

they come from surrounding areas to steal from the wealthy.

Heard a story from my brother-in-law. His son-in-law in Chicago was mugged...by a member of gang on their own turf...The leader of the gang made the perp return the item to the victim. They don't commit crimes on their own turf?

but strange things happen sometimes.

Years ago we had some Latin Kings in the neighborhood and we never had a problem with them and if anyone in the hood was messed with, those Latin Kings would take care of it / have things returned.
They did respect their own neighborhood.

A few years ago there was a big raid and put some of them in jail including one of the kids I fought in grammer school , they were dealing drugs and guns.

Now we also have no gangs here as the Cop that was in charge of that raid was another kid I grew up with and just retired from the CPD as commander of the 5th district.

West Trenton. The mob was there at that time (don't know if they still are) and they could leave their doors unlocked because nobody messed with anyone there even those that were not part of the mob.

I think I would rather deal with losing something once in a while than drugs and guns in the neighborhood.
