pc3200 at 200Mhz?
Mar 8, 2005 10:43AM PST

what is the max Mhz that pc3200 can run at? because my notebook says its it'll go up 333Mhz, but right now it's on 200Mhz, and I don't know how to change it. any help?

3200 is ...

3200 is 8 bytes wide. So that's 400. Since it's DDR, its double pumped so a 200MHz clock is all that's needed to get the full data rate.

checking memory speed?
Mar 8, 2005 11:28AM PST

couple of ways to check, usally at start up/boot up there is a hot key you can hit, like f2, f12 which lets you get into your bios screen. from there you might be able to see your memory specs. If your using DDR, they come in pc2100(266mhz), pc2700(333mhz)
pc3200(400mhz) etc. This memory is 200 pin and backwards compatible. So if you have pc2700, you can buy pc3200 and use it. Nice thing about buying faster memory is that it will run cooler as it was made to run at a higher mhz.
