Check Disk on every boot

Jul 10, 2007 7:33PM PDT

Hi,
I've two systems installed on my machine. Both are XP-Pro. For last two weeks both systems start running chkdisk on every boot. Both check drive E: & F:. upon completion no problem is found but chkdisk is always there again on next boot. I've tried defragmentation yet the problem is there. What should I do?
All expert opinions welcomed. Thanks.

One thing...

Defragmenting just shuffles files around on the physical surface of the drive. It doesn't do ANYTHING else. No error checking, no magical fixing of corrupted files, negligible speed increases in the vast majority of cases... It ONLY moves the files around on the physical surface of the drive, NOTHING else.
