Cheap DVD player

Aug 1, 2005 6:51PM PDT

I just got a 30" widescreen philips HDTV and now i need a new DVD player to go with it.
I can not fork out much money at all because this TV killed my bank account, lol. Cheapest=best.
But i definitely need progressive scan at the least.
I have a RCA HTS-1000 system right now that i will be replacing with this to get better picture quality.
So please help me out here, thanks.

Cheap anything...

Well... there's probably 500 options for what to do when looking for something cheap.

Got to Best Buy
Circuit City (like the previous post suggested)
eBay
garage sales
Target
Wal-mart
Costco
... on and on

I spent about 60 seconds and went to www.dealtime.com and looked for progressive scan DVD players.

Found a Toshiba SD-3980 DVD Player for $40.

I figure my time is worth at least $1.50 a minute, so is yours. For every 10 minutes you spend researching, figure it's $15 more spent.
I realize this isn't actually out of pocket expense, but sometimes spending an extra $60 to save an hour of driving around is well spent money. Especially with gas at almost $3/gallon.

Enjoy

DONT MAKE THE MISTAKE I MADE

I wasted a ton of money trying to get a good picture from my d.v.d. player Here is what to do Make sure the d.v.d. player has d.v.i output I have seen players for about $200 then buy a GIFEN d.v.i. switcher since you should only have 1 d.v.i. input on your t.v. or hdmi you will need the switcher to toggle from your hi-def decoder to your d.v.d. player and you will have an awsome picture good luck stewart norrie
