Question

charging of my laptop

Before I need to say my "hp" laptop battery is dead. model of my laptop is hp Probook4440s. When I charge the battery I followed following steps.

1. connect the charger with the power port of my pc.
2. connect the other side to the power source (plug point) and switch on.
3. waited few seconds and switch on the power button of pc.

But Laptop was not active.

But when I do above steps as below, the laptop was active.

1. connect the charger to the power source (plug point) and switch on.
2. connect the other side of charger with the power port of my pc.
3. waited few seconds and switch on the power button of pc.

I need to know what can be the reason for this difference.

Answer
In all that, how old is this battery?

In reply to: charging of my laptop

Since we can wear out a battery in just 1 year, there's that.
You won't find an end to folk that want to "know" it's the battery. Not much you can do to prove it but replace the battery (no battery testers out there.) At the shop we used to let them try out a battery but due to a few folk that claimed the new battery destroyed their laptop, well, that ended.
