Charging indicator flashing

I plugged my oldie but goodie Dell Latitude in. I haven't used it in almost a year; don't know if that factors into it.
the indicator light was steady green when I plugged it in, and about an hour later it was flashing amber. Manual says nothing about this.

Sorry.

I missed one detail. There is flashing yellow on that unit. It means the wifi didn't connect.

Battery dead

Thanks Bob, that was very helpful. Turns out the battery's kaput.
I remember seeing a video of taking the battery case apart and soldering in AA batteries. It was a general overview, but very interesting. Have you or anyone here had experience with that?

Yes and no.

While I do own a solder iron and would do that on my own gear the problem is that if such gear would cause a fire or worse then it would be my fault and given the litigious climate today I would NEVER do this repair or endorse it.

You are very much on your own here. Use your judgment for this one.
Bob
