Charging battery with 220

Nov 17, 2004 10:15AM PST

We will to traveling in Feb and need some info on converters. I have read some ads. Both have a switch for high or low watts but one says not to use it to charge batteries and the other says you can charge your camera battery. The specs seem the same on these two items. Has anyone had experience with using their cameras in other countries? What converter did you use?

I didn't have to use such since my wall power unit is marked 100 to 240 VAC and 50/60 Hz.

Look at yours.

I'm living in Bangkok, Thailand, where we use 220V. I bought Canon S-40 from the US. The charger, firstly bought in the US, still worked very well so far. Check out your input adapter range for more details. I believe that mostly the charger's adapter was designed for the wide range of voltage.

Thanks to both of you. It did not occur to me that the charger was able to handle both. I did check and now just need to get the adaptor set.

Just another precaution, an extra battery would be nice while traveling. In case that you may run out of battery. Good luck.
