Why do the channels change so slow when hooked up to straight
cable (basic cable no cable box)? Do other brands change channels

by givemeaname / December 1, 2008 4:01 AM PST

I just counted 4.5 sec from picture to picture on my SXRD using dishnetwork HD-DVR, the sound takes 2 sec. It is the same on my LCD samsung & a hair faster on my Sony HD-CRT, but that has a diffrent model HD-DVR

I had a samsung a couple of years ago hooked up to a cable box
and it changed channels fine. When i got rid of the box and went
straight cable - same thing. Slow channel changing. I thought by
now they would have improved this. I thought I read somewhere that
the toshibas change channels quicker but it looks to me that without
the cable box its just going to be that way.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
