you must uninstall the old drivers first. you will not have a black screen with the new vid card. it may look large or a bit distorted. you can always download the new drivers from the web site first and save to your desktop. uninstall old drivers then shut down insert new card, restart and then install new drivers for your new card. skip
This morning I changed the video card that came with the machine (very basic)and put in my ATI All-In-Wonder Pro. I did not install any new drivers because it sounded like I could use the video driver that came with Win2000. Now did I uninstall the old drivers. I booted up, everything did as it was supposed to do, albeit a very bad picture and then when I moved the mouse, it froze. I rebooted and nothing. I reinstalled the old card and everything is ok again. Now, before putting the newer card back in, should I delete the old drivers? If that is done, won't the screen be black before I can install the new drivers? Can someone please walk me through this. Also, please know your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
