It would seem as though this program does not follow along with the normal practice of allowing users to change languages.
Office appears to be "localized" and is sold in the language of the country in which it is purchased in.
There are a number of hits on the internet that ask the same question but the bottom line is always, no can do.
Office 2003 & 2007, that's the Windows versions, have multiple languages built in but that is for the FULL retail version and not the Student & Teacher editions.
There are instructions on the MS website for changing that version but nothing for Office 2008 for Mac.
Take a look inside the Office folder in your Applications folder and see if you can find anything that says Tools or Language.
