No. A JPEG could have millions of colors where a gif has all of 256 colors to choose from.

" Because GIF files contain a maximum of 256 colors, this file format is ideal for simple graphics with minimal shading or color variation. Other types of graphics are better suited for the JPEG file format. While a Microsoft Word document could end with the suffix ".doc", a GIF file ends in ".gif". Back to Top

In Photoshop, under File / Save for Web I go back and forth between jpeg and gif setting to get the smallest file sizes without compromising the image quality.

Yes, I even use the gif setting for photos sometimes because on smaller photos on the web, I can get away with using only 64, 128 or 256 colors with great results and smaller file sizes.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
