Unless the new monitor comes with specific software, just plug it in.

Now computor regconised the monitor and updated drivers for it but ive noticed with using it three or four times there is a slight flicker and then goes blank for maybe a couple of seconds the the screen comes back to normal.. Is there something wrong with the monitor or have i not installed it properly?? Much appreciated in some help on this.

budds310, Like windyriver stated the Refresh Rate probably has to be changed to a lower number. Right click your Desktop, choose Properties, under the Settings tab click the Advanced button, under the Monitor tab change the Screen Refresh Rate to a lower number using the drop down arrow button, click Apply/OK. You could start with the lowest number first then keep moving up to the next higher number till the flickering starts happening then just back down a number. Did the monitor come with a owners manual which should have instructions?
