changing icons

wanted to know if anyone can tell me how is it that icons on my favorites list change to another icon from that same list.as an example my amazon icon all of a sudden changed to let's say a google icon.any help would be appreciated.thanks

Could it be the favorites list in IE8? Or in Start>Favorites? Or maybe even the bookmarks list in Firefox?

thanks for the suggestions,my favorites are from the web browser drop down menu,don't understand what you mean by IE8 and how that would cause the problem of changing the sites's icons.how would i go about correction this issue? web browser is internet explorer

With IE8 I meant Internet Explorer 8 (version Cool. You might have version 6 or 7 or even 9 already. From the menu bar: Help > About Internet Explorer will tell you.

http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,25471,00.asp sells a program that supposedly fixes it forever.
The alternative is that you clear your Temporary Internet Files (from Tools>Delete browsing history) and wait till they come back).
