Question

Changing Graphics Card On Dell i17rn 3530dbk

Apr 10, 2015 5:15AM PDT

Hey guys I'm just looking for some help. My Dell Inspiron i17rn 3530dbk has a built in Intel graphics card, and also a Nvidia Geforce 500 series graphics card. The default one being used is the intel graphics card, and I'd like to change it to the nvidia one. I can't find anything online on how to do it, and I can't figure it out by myself. I'd appreciate a little help on this. If you need any more info on this, just ask, thanks in advance guys.

Thank you for the link, but I've visited this site many times, they really don't have any on this model though. That's what really annoys me. Thank you for your assistance anyway.

And that GPU selection control panel does move around a bit. It's usually under some "preferred GPU" in some control somewhere.

HOWEVER !!! If someone loads Windows this is usually missing.

A workaround maybe

Can you just go to device manager and disable the Intel graphics? That should make the Nvidia GPU take over. While you're at it, I'd get the latest graphics driver for that chip as well.
