General discussion

changed homepage

Dec 26, 2005 1:50PM PST

my homepage has been changed by a virus and i cannot get rid of it. ive tried: adware se personal, norton antivirus 2004, spyboy:search and destroy, and stinger(i think its called).

on the homepage it says my private info is collected by W32.Sinnaka.A@mm. and it says i should use malware wipe, and spy trooper. but i believe they are just viruses. originally it installed spyaxe automatically which i deleted immediantly.

any suggestion/recommendations?

im stumped or else i wouldnt of asked. thank you in advanced.

Morninglory.. for the time being..

you might want to read through this prior thread from last week, where someone else was infected with W32.Sinnaka.A@mm. Your situation may not be exactly the same, but you should be able to get some help.. for the time being. (Read the moderators suggestions)

http://reviews.cnet.com/5208-6132-0.html?forumID=32&threadID=144454&messageID=1617592

It may seem confusing, but stick with it if you can. If you have problems, I'm sure someone will be by to help.

Good luck..
Carol

(You said you ''think'' you tried Stinger. Was it what Marianna posted within the above thread? ( http://reviews.cnet.com/5208-6132-0.html?forumID=32&threadID=144454&messageID=1618942 ) If it were I, I'd follow what she has suggested. It certainly won't hurt.. and can only help.
