change of notebook internal hard drive

Feb 9, 2005 2:48AM PST

I have a Dell 8500 with 40 GB at 5400 rpm. I intent to replace the hard disk with an 80+ GB unit at 7200 rpm.
Do my notebook develop any problem by replacing the drive with a greater rotational speed?
What is the maximum hard disk capacity that Xp and the 8500 accept?
