Question

Change Name of Folder in All Apps?

The folders in All Apps seem to be named for the software company, not by the program name (for example, its Digiarty, not WinX DVD Copy). Is there a way to change this name?

Answer
So yes and no.

While you could pull it off, that would break the app and it's installer/uninstaller for most. That is, there is NO SUPPORT for such a rename without breaking stuff. If you were intent on doing this, sure, but your skills would be to the point you would do but not ask.

-> It looks to be the choice of the software company. If this is such a turnoff, did you feed it back to them?

Work around

Well, it turns out that all I needed to do was rename the Program folder and restart the machine.

And it wasn't a turn off - I just can't remember the company names when looking for the programs in the very long list.
