Change default email on Windows XP Home Edition

Want to switch to my gmail address.

Have tried control panel, internet options, but no gmail choice there.

I thought we did that in our email app?

Normally you can't

Your default email program must be just that....a program. Gmail is all on line. I did find this which might help.
