That is a new one on me.
I suggest you take the card to your local photo processing location and see if their equipment can see the files.
If so, have them put them on a CD for you.
(about $3 per CD at WalMart and WalGreen Pharmacy)
It could be helpful if we knew the make and model of the camera.

I have a 2GB Compact Flash memory card. It is full of pictures that I can see and browse through while the card is in the camera.
But when I attach it to a card reader and attempt to view them on a computer the folder appears empty.
The computer has no problem reading the presence of a card and when I look at the card properties there is nearly 2GB worth of space used, suggesting that the files are there, just not being visible.
I've tried an antivirus scan and used a photo recovery programme. The latter saw 5 files, but there are - in the camera at least - hundreds on the card.
OS is Windows Vista Home Premium 2007 - but I've had the same problem on other machines with different versions (so far all Windows)
Any help would be much appreciated.
