Century Link Company

Recently one of my parents moved into an assisted living facility and wanted to take their phone service and phone number with them. No problem we were told by Century Link. Unfortunately they messed it all up and I was on the phone with 6-7 people trying to get it taken care of. Each person gave me a different story and why it wasn't working. One said today, one said tomorrow, one said in 4 days we can make it happen. People would not listen and each time I had to go over the scenario again. I asked for a manager or supervisor and they couldn't get it right and eventually I was sent me to the Loyalty dept. because they could certainly help. That person was NO HELP. The phone number had been theirs for over 40 years and no one was willing to work through it and make it happen. I cancelled the service and told Century Link what terrible customer service they had and not being willing to help someone who is elderly make an easier transition during a difficult time. One tech hung up on me when I asked for their last name! After 3 calls and 2 hours I was so done!

That's frustrating.

After 40 years you'd think they would look after their own. I hope you find a much better alternative. Given their rudeness I'd be on 'em like a dog on a bone.
Best of luck,

Who/what did you port the old number to??

In reply to: Century Link Company

Did you port their old number to a landline or cellular number? Sometimes the ports can go bad for different reasons (still- in this day/age). Where the number originated can be significant. YMMV.

If you can be more specific, I could try to assist. Your above post lacks the level of detail required to be useful. There's also Some great advice there too.
