Centrino CPU Temp

Feb 15, 2005 7:49PM PST

Hi. I am wondering if anyone knows the range for a healthy CPU temperature for centrino. My cpu temp sometimes get up to around 56 degrees C. What would be the threshold? Thanks.

Also, does anyone know how to keep the fan running permanently? I would like to keep it runing when I am on AC power.

Centrino 725 - 1.6Ghz.

Mine's 56 right now. Happy

To keep the fan running at all times when the computer is on AC power would require some special utilities. For a Dell 8600 and some others, you can get a program called ik8fangui which lets you control fans really explicitly. But it depends from one laptop to another.

you can use ifangui for control your fan speed. i use it when play command conquer generals to keep the temp between 60 and 67 celsius. if i left the fan controlled by the motherboard of system, the temp reach 70 or more celsius and the cpu speed use intel speedstep for protection and downgrade the speed to 600mhz until temp is safe again.

this can ve avoided increasing the speed of the fan to high.
