Cell Phones In A Hospital

Apr 2, 2006 11:57PM PDT

Just wanted to pose a question since my voicemail was not played last week. What are the ramifications of cell phones in hospitals? With every hospital I have been to in the past few years having signs posted in an entryway or lobby telling you to turn off your cell phone, why do people feel the need to talk on the phone even if someone's life could be endangered?

I would like to see some experiments with hospital equipment to prove or disprove any effects, but I guess people do not think cell phones can cause any harm.

its been proved that cell phones are hospital safe. there is a slight risk but not enough to make it worth working about.

However when it's someone?s life at stake, is it worth wile accepting a call from a telemarketer asking you if you need a new long distance provider?

Telemarketer calling someone's cell phone?
That's a foreign concept to me.

Anyways, I've used my cell phone in an ICU before, and nobody said anything about it.
