Question

cell phone

Sep 8, 2015 6:25PM PDT

Today I received the new CNET Newsletter about the cell phone and iPhones and that actually give me idea to ask for the following:
2 years ago I purchased the NOKIA LUMIA 610 cell phone. This cell phone actually I have been using only when I went out because at home I do have a land line phone. Must say even if I carry this cell phone outside I keep it off unless I need to make a very short call. Exactly 1 year after the purchase I start to have a problem with the battery. Battery has been losing the power even the phone was off. So I purchase the second battery and the same happen exactly 1 year after. Now I did order the 3rd battery but I am certain that will be not good again after 1 year.
When I ask in the store they told me to buy the new phone. So is this phone junk or the battery is junk.
Thanks for your reply

Answer
Sadly true. Here's why.

Most LiOn batteries are 300 cycle affairs. If it drains most of the way during the day and you charge at night it should work out to a yearly replacement. This is not a Lumia exclusive issue.

Thanks for your reply honestly I do not know what means 300 cycle affairs. When I ask my friend who has cell phone and using this one on the daily basic constantly already for 3 years with the original battery what is the difference? Shoud I buy different model?
Thanks

Or...

Let's see how I get years from a battery. My current model gets 3 or more days on a charge so that 300 cycle can be years now.

Consumers want thin and long battery times which are at odds as far as goals. My phone weighs more, is thicker so a consumer may not get what's going on. So a thin battery with just enough to get by for a day would have us swap in a new battery yearly.

Here that's cheap so the dime a day it costs may be worth it for a slim phone.

And another thing. I use the ABC rule. When I can I plug it in to let the battery top off and not get used.
